Paris, June 1940. On top of the Eiffel Tower fire chief Lucien Sarniguet is forced by the Nazis to take down the French flag.

The swastika flies over Paris.

Four years later, under the enemy fire, Sarniguet risks his life and those of his best five men to give Paris back the dignity it had lost on top of those 1710 steps.
